WELL DONE EVERYONE AT THE SILVERSTONE HISTORIC GP CIRCUIT MAY MEETING !!

A fantastic Classic Racing Cars race with a couple of 1000cc F3's providing a shock for more than a few F2 cars!

The grid was a shock probably for some with David Methley bringing out the ex-James Wigmore Merlyn MK14A for the first time and putting it in third spot behind Simon Hadfield's Lotus 48 and Geoff Farmer's BT18. Also well up the starting grid was newcomer to CRC from the Guards Trophy, Stuart Tizzard and fellow migrant Jim Chapman who was out for the first time in another ex-James Wigmore car, the Lotus 59. WELL DONE EVERYONE - MONACO HISTORIC GP

A super result for two of our regular drivers, Francois Derossi who runs the Historic F3 European Trophy and Paul McMorran, a regular at our HSCC events. Francois came 2nd after various dramas at the re-start (the first start was red flagged due to a stupid collision caused by a driver towards the back of the grid stopping in the  wrong slot then driving into the car in front) with Paul third. The race was probably the most exciting of the day and they were all a fantastic spectacle.

All our regular drivers did well with Richard Eyre 5th, Chris Holland 8th, Steve Wilkinson 12th, Geoffrey O'nion 13th, Leif Bosson 14th, Gareth Williams 16th, Nigel Miller 20th, Christopher Drake 23rd.

As a spectator sitting in what must be the best possible place, stand K in the marina, I can honestly say it was a fabulous race, especially the first 3/5 laps with the eventual winner Christian Traber, Francois and Paul fighting hard for the lead. Hard and tough but all being the complete gentlemen they are.

There are a few photos from 2010, plus a couple from 1967 and 1968 on the Monaco page. Click Here
